Troubleshooting
Generation errors and retries
Plans that fail or hang, renders that stall, what is refunded automatically, and when to change the input instead of retrying.
Generation is a background job. This page is what to do when one does not come back.
A plan is stuck in queued or generating
A plan that has not moved for about ten minutes is failed automatically by a watchdog rather than spinning forever. You do not need to wait longer than that.
Fix: retry it. A retry regenerates the plan and spends the allowance again, because that is what it does.
A plan failed immediately
Usually one of three things:
- Out of allowance. See generations and allowances.
- Plan limit reached for the month. See when you hit a limit.
- The content guard refused it. See what we will not generate.
A reel render stalled
A render stuck for more than about ten minutes is failed automatically and the generations it reserved are refunded. That refund is deliberate: an expensive action that disappears silently is the worst kind of failure for a metered product.
Fix: retry. If it fails twice on the same reel, simplify it: an unusually long script or a very large uploaded asset is the usual culprit.
One tab came back wrong
Regenerate that tab rather than the plan. There is a cap of three regenerations per tab, and hitting it is a signal: the input is the problem, not the sample. See regenerating, retrying and cancelling.
The same thing fails repeatedly
Stop retrying and change an input:
- Make the topic more specific.
- Tighten Niche and Audience in your brand profile.
- Check the subject is not one the guard will refuse.
Three identical attempts produce three identical outcomes.
Nothing was lost
A failed generation does not damage anything else. Your other plans, assets and scheduled posts are untouched.
