Content plans
Creating a plan
The two doors into the generator, what the fan-out actually does, and why it never invents anything new.
There are exactly two doors into a content plan, and they produce the same eight tabs.
From an idea
Open Ideas, pick one, choose Use. The idea's angle and audience carry into the plan.
From a topic
Content plans → New, then describe what you want to talk about in your own words. Nothing about the plan is weaker for having skipped the pool; the pool is a source of starting angles, not a required step.
Be specific. "Retention" produces a generic plan. "Why clients churn in month three and what to do in month two" produces a usable one.
While it generates
Generation takes a minute or two and runs tab by tab. You can leave the page: it is a server-side job, not something that dies when you close the tab. If a plan gets stuck, a watchdog fails it rather than leaving it spinning forever, and you can retry it.
Fanning it out
Fan-out is the step that turns a plan into scheduled posts. It is deterministic and free of new AI calls: it takes the material the plan already generated and places it across your platforms on real dates: roughly sixteen posts over a fortnight. The same plan always fans out the same way.
Two things are deliberately never fanned out:
- The email, which belongs in your email tool rather than your social calendar.
- The video scripts, which are scripts rather than finished posts.
Per-platform times are staggered on purpose
The fan-out gives each platform its own posting time rather than firing the same piece to six networks at the same minute. That pattern reads as automation to both audiences and platforms, and avoiding it is the reason the stagger exists.
You can still edit any individual time on the plan's Schedule tab, or move anything later from the calendar.
What it costs
A plan is the most expensive single action in the product, because it is eight generations in a trench coat. Both a monthly plan allowance and a generation cost apply. See generations.
