Content signals

Topics, keywords and the explicit avoid list: the fields that steer what the product writes about and what it must never touch.

Alongside the seven profile sections, your brand carries a set of content signals: the shorter, list-shaped fields that steer relevance. They are AI-assisted (the website analyzer pre-fills them) and fully editable.

What they are

Topics you post about: the recurring subject areas of your content. These seed the idea pool.

Keywords: the words and phrases your audience actually uses. Useful when your industry has an insider vocabulary that a general model would not reach for.

Things to care about: subjects you want more of. A steer and a boost, not a guarantee.

Things to avoid: subjects you want none of. This one is different from the others, and the difference matters.

The avoid list is a veto, not a preference

"Things to avoid" is an explicit block. Anything on it is excluded from what the product generates, rather than merely down-weighted. Use it for the subjects that would be actively wrong for your brand: a competitor you will not name, a claim you are not allowed to make, a topic your regulator takes a view on.

Keep the entries short and concrete. "Politics" works. "Anything that could be misconstrued" does not, because it is not a subject.

What the avoid list is not for

It is not the place to exclude every adjacent industry one by one. You do not need to list cardiology to stop an obstetrics clinic getting cardiology ideas: that is the job of a well-written Niche, which is the field the generator reads first. Use the avoid list for specific vetoes, and fix breadth in Niche.

Where they take effect

Content signals feed idea generation and plan generation. They do not retroactively change plans you have already made, and they do not filter posts you wrote yourself: a post you compose at Posts → New post is your words, unfiltered by the brand signals.

If the output still drifts

Work in this order: tighten Niche, then Audience, then add the specific veto to the avoid list. Reaching for the avoid list first tends to produce a long list of exclusions that never quite covers the next surprise.
